Headed to the National Championship

Mike and I are headed out this afternoon to LA where we will cheer on our TEXAS LONGHORNS to victory over Alabama in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

My parents are meeting us out in LA tonight. They are currently stuck on the runway and have missed their flight from San Fran to LA because there is too much fog in San Francisco to take off, go figure. Crossing our fingers they can get (a) get on another flight or (b) find a rental car.

Christine and Melinda are staying with Mike and I as well :) We are going to have another slumber party two weekends in a row! Mike is such a trooper! We have big plans to go to the Texas party tonight at H.Wood. Hoping to see Speidi at the bar, it is apparently their favorite hangout. If anything, Christine and I have promised to act like Guidettes and battle on the dance floor (Jersey Shore, anyone?) so it should be a good time. Maybe Mike will gel his hair and wear a rhinestone dragon shirt. It is LA after all.

Tomorrow, we'll go to the Texas Exes tailgate with my parents. A slew of Longhorn alums, Fajita dinner, open bar, $90 later what more could we ask for?! (Well actually, Alabama's alumni tailgate includes the exact same thing but is only $30, maybe that is what we could ask for...) Who am I kidding, ours is just more ELITE.

Following our victory, Mike and I will take the train out to Santa Barbara on Friday to meet his parents, and taste some wine as we travel North to San Luis Obispo until Sunday. Can't wait to see my in-laws! Its been too long!
